INRIA (France, Sophia Antipolis) is seeking a design and production engineer
|
|
Software design engineer, the profile defined by the National Institute for Research in Computer Science (INRIA) must be able to support the realization of demonstrators. |
The engineer INRIA is seeking will be responsible for the design of the Virtual Reality version of SOFA (see project description and link below).
He will be also responsible of the realization of demonstration projects for Virtual Reality rooms INRIA (equipment type "Wall picture", "Reality Center" and "Cave").
It will evolve into a team involved in the development of the open-source library of physic simulations, currently the most advanced worldwide.
Activities
INRIA specifies to candidates that the new team member will participate in technical choices (software architecture, development tools) and will develop softwares he will experiment in a close collaboration with the development team SOFA.
Skills and profile
Trained in the computer field, the future engineer INRIA, as it can be understood, must have a solid understanding of software development and related tools (version manager, compiling, documentation, testing, debugging, etc.).
Expert in C++, he will also be proficient in OpenGL and parallel programming.
INRIA
The French National Institute of specialized research in science and information technology and communications, employs 3,800 people in its research centers.
The Sophia-Antipolis center (500 employees) includes thirty research teams or support.
SOFA (Simulation Open Framework Architecture) is an international platform of open-source interactive simulation driven by INRIA (www.sofa-framework.org).
It currently gathers 6 researchers, 4 engineers and 30 contributors.
SOFA is a key protagonist for physical simulation (industrial projects and academic partners). |
